مرتضی مطهری روشنگرانه به معارف اسلامی و انسانی نظر می كرد و گام های اساسی و موثری در ارتقا سطح آگاهی اقشار گوناگون جامعه به ویژه قشر فرهنگی برداشت. او در سراسر زندگی خویش تلاش های بسیاری برای آموزش و پرورش جامعه عصر خود كرد، كتاب ها و مقالات پرمحتوا وی در زمینه ایدئولوژی اصیل اسلامی و مسایل مربوط به آن؛ یاری دهنده جامعه ایران در دوران انقلاب بود. آثار و تالیفات غنی استاد مطهری مملو از معارف ناب اسلامی و انسانی است و به همین دلیل صاحب نظران این گنجینه پربار را روشنگر راه انسان این عصر می دانند.

اندیشه متعالی و جایگاه والای مرتضی مطهری باعث شد تا كوردلان و فتنه گران عنان تحمل خویش را از دست بدهند و نقشه حذف این استاد آزاده را طراحی كنند و این چنین در ساعات پایانی روز یازدهم اردیبهشت 1358هجری خورشیدی، استاد مطهری توسط گروهك فرقان به شهادت رسید و انقلاب اسلامی یكی از یاران باوفای خویش را از دست داد اما آثار غنی شهید مطهری از او به یادگار ماند تا یادش هماره زنده و جاوید در ایران باقی بماند.

روند رو به رشد علم در سراسر تاریخ بشریت مرهون اندیشه و تفكر اندیشمندانی است كه با تلاش همیشگی خویش، پاسخگوی سوالات پایان ناپذیر بشر بوده اند و با هدایت و راهنمایی انسان ها مسیر پیشرفت علم را هموار ساختند. فرشتگان خستگی ناپذیر، كه به حق معلم نامیده شدند تا نامی در خور تلاش و كوششان در راه آموزش سازندگان آینده كشور داشته باشند.

شان و مقام معلم بسیار والاست، آنان به عنوان انسان سازان جامعه، شایسته احترام ویژه ای هستند و چه نیكوست كه نه تنها امروز بلكه در تمامی لحظه ها سپاسگزار تلاش آنها در راه یادگیری فرزندان این مرز و بوم باشیم.

معمار كبیر انقلاب اسلامی حضرت امام خمینی(ره) پیرامون اهمیت نقش معلمان در كشور فرمودند:' نقش معلم در جامعه، نقش انبیاست؛ انبیا هم معلم بشر هستند. نقش معلم، بسیار حساس و مهم است و مسئولیت بسیار زیادی دارد. نقش مهمی است كه همان نقش تربیت است كه اخراج من الظلمات الی النور است. معلم، امانت داری است كه (امانت او) غیر از همه امانت هاست؛ انسان، امانت اوست. امانت های دیگر را اگر كسی خیانت به آن بكند، خلاف كرده است، اما امانت اگر انسان باشد، اگر خدای نخواسته به این امانت خیانت شد، یك وقت می بیند خیانت به یك ملت است، خیانت به یك جامعه است، خیانت به اسلام است. معلم، امانت دار نسلی است كه تمام مقدّرات یك كشور، به آن نسل سپرده می شود و تربیت شما باید همراه با تعلیم باشد.'

مقام معظم رهبری، آیت الله خامنه ای نیز در این باره می فرمایند: 'شما (معلم ها) در سر كلاس، نه فقط درسی كه می دهید، بلكه نگاهی كه می كنید، اشاره ای كه می كنید، لبخندی كه می زنید، اخمی كه می كنید، حركتی كه انجام می دهید و لباسی كه می پوشید، بر روی دانش آموز اثر می گذارد. ما به خودمان كه مراجعه می كنیم، عمیق ترین احساسات و عواطف و حالات خودمان را اگر ریشه یابی كنیم، در انتهای خط، یك معلم را مشاهده می كنیم. معلم است كه ما را می تواند شجاع یا جَبان، بخشنده یا بخیل، فداكار یا خودپرست، اهل علم و طالب علم و فهم و فرهنگ، یا منجمد و بسته و پای بند به تفكرات جامد بار بیاورد. معلم است كه می تواند ما را متدین، باتقوا، پاك دامن، یا خدای ناكرده بی بندوبار، بار بیاورد. معلم چنین نقشی دارد. این ارزش معلم است و این تأثیر معلم است.'

امروز مزین به نام زیبای معلمان زحمتكش و مهربان این مرز و بوم است تا بهانه ای برای تجلیل از مقام انسان هایی باشد كه در راه پیشرفت و آبادانی كشور، همراه و همیار آینده سازان این سرزمین كهن هستند؛ هدایت گرانی كه خالصانه به تعلیم فرزندان این آب و خاك برخاسته اند تا راه گشای آنان برای ساختن ایرانی آبادتر و سرافرازتر باشند و هرلحظه فرصت مغتنمی است تا به دوراز تعلق به تقویم تاریخ نگار، سپاسگزار و قدردان معلمان خود باشیم .
